Court Is in Session! ⚖️

15 October 2026

For our final lesson of our RE unit, Creation or Science: Conflicting or Complimentary?, we transformed our classroom into a courtroom to explore the big question: Do science and religious beliefs conflict, or can they complement one another?

The class took on the roles of the prosecution, defence and jury. Working in their teams, they gathered evidence, prepared their arguments and presented their cases. The jury listened carefully to both sides before considering the evidence and reaching their verdict.

It was fantastic to see everyone putting their learning into practice, thinking critically and respectfully considering different viewpoints. The courtroom debate encouraged us to question, reason and explore how science and religious beliefs can sometimes challenge one another, but may also offer different ways of understanding the world.

A brilliant way to conclude our unit, showcasing teamwork, thoughtful discussion and some very persuasive arguments! Well done, everyone! ⚖️👏
