Maple and Sapling Classes recently enjoyed a wonderful educational trip to Westonbirt Arboretum, filled with discovery, creativity, and outdoor fun.
During the visit, the children took part in a marvellous minibeast workshop, where they explored the fascinating world of insects and small creatures. They learned about the different habitats minibeasts live in and why they are so important to our ecosystem. The workshop sparked curiosity and excitement, with many children eager to share what they had found and observed.
One of the highlights of the day was creating minibeast art using natural materials gathered from the forest floor. Leaves, twigs, bark, and seeds were carefully arranged to make imaginative and detailed creations. The children showed fantastic creativity and teamwork, producing some truly impressive pieces of art inspired by nature.
Throughout the day, the classes also discovered why the arboretum is such a special place. They learned about the wide variety of trees from around the world and the importance of conservation and protecting natural environments.
To round off the trip, everyone had the chance to enjoy some well-deserved free time at the adventure playground. Laughter and smiles were everywhere as the children climbed, explored, and played together.
It was a memorable day full of learning, creativity, and fun!
