We were delighted to welcome Anton from the South Cotswold Foodbank into school today, where he spoke to the children about the important work they do in our local community.
During his visit, he explained how the food bank supports individuals and families who may be experiencing difficult times. He shared how donations from the public are sorted, packed, and distributed to those in need, ensuring that people have access to essential food and household items. The children were particularly interested to learn about how small acts of kindness—such as the Easter eggs they donated—can make a big difference to someone’s life.
The session also encouraged pupils to think about empathy, community, and the importance of helping others. It sparked thoughtful discussions about how we can all play a role in supporting those around us, whether through donations, volunteering, or simply being more aware of the challenges others may face.
We are very grateful to the South Cotswold Foodbank for taking the time to visit us and inspire our pupils. Their work is a powerful reminder of the strength of community and the positive impact we can have when we work together.
