Ambulance and Paramedics visit Maple Class

20 February 2026

Last week, Maple Class had an exciting and educational visit from two friendly paramedics, who arrived in their ambulance to teach the children all about their important job.

The children were thrilled to explore the ambulance and learn how the paramedics help people in emergencies. They had the opportunity to look closely at the equipment used to care for patients and even try some of it themselves. One of the highlights of the visit was practising first aid skills — the children carefully bandaged each other’s arms and learned how to help keep someone safe until help arrives.

Everyone also had a turn lying on the stretcher, just like a real patient, and discovering how it works. There were lots of smiles and giggles as the children experienced what it might feel like to be cared for in an emergency situation.

Perhaps the most exciting moment of all was sitting in the front of the ambulance, where the paramedics showed the children the controls and explained how they travel quickly and safely to help people in need.

It was a fantastic, hands-on learning experience that helped the children understand more about the important role paramedics play in our community. A big thank you to our wonderful visitors for taking the time to inspire and educate Maple Class!
