During our half term topic, ‘On the Farm’, the children will learn about a range of animals and farm life.

We will be reading and basing our learning around the following texts:

  • - Oliver’s Vegetables
  • - Farmer Duck
  • - The Amazing Life Cycle of Butterflies
  • - What the Ladybird Heard

Using their acquired knowledge, the children will have opportunities to express their own creativity. They’ll design a “wanted” poster, describe the life cycle of a butterfly, write a diary entry, write their own stories and prepare their own vegetable soup in class!

During Geography lessons, we will be comparing the countryside to cities, identifying the human and physical features of these places. We will also be developing our map skills by recapping the compass points, using coordinates on a map to help us identify locations and creating a map of our school.

In Art, we will be exploring different ways of printing, including using a variety of fruit and vegetables, water and ink, outdoor materials, etc. before creating original patterns to print using cardboard and string.

Our focus in ICT will be to create and debug simple programmes and produce our own algorithms using BeeBots.

In PE this term we are continuing with our games skills using a range of equipment and hoping for sunny weather to be outside!

We are looking at Creation in RE and also different versions of children’s bible stories to compare similarities and differences between them.

Our Charanga Music unit is called Imagination and is all about us using our imagination in a musical way.

What a busy term this will be!
