Welcome to Beech class page where you find everything you want to know about our class.
This half term, our topic is ‘Once Upon a Time’. We will be exploring traditional tales, focusing on stories that include wolves! We will be reading the following texts:
- - The Three Little Pigs
- - Little Red Riding Hood
- - The Gingerbread Man
- - The Little Red Hen
- - Zog
The children will be having lots of fun making a “wanted” poster for the big bad wolf as well as simple story maps.
There will be many opportunities for the children to be creative by developing their drawing and clay skills. We will be using clay to create our own animal sculptures.
We will explore the world around us by drawing our own maps, which will link to a variety of traditional tales. As part of this topic, we will become scientists by exploring different materials and their properties.
In PE we are looking at traditional tales through dance. In our Charanga music we are looking at how music makes the world a better place.
